EMMA WATSON APPEARING IN NEW MOVIE
internatinaly renowned actress emma watson has taken up a role in a movie which doesn't involve giants or evil noseless villians. based on the beloved novel, ballet shoes is a movie of which emma fell deeply in love with.
the production has been going on for some time now, in fact, it is halfway through. emma had to die her hair blonde for this new movie, but who cares? she's still the girl who loves rebellions, all sorts of books, and the smell of new parchment, stated in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
as, like i mentioned, the production is half-way through filming the movie, pictures of it has been released, both normal and high-resolution pictures.
the film ballet shoes will be released sometime around december.
P.S. emma got top grades for all her subjects in a/s (advanced subsidary) level. congratulations to her for her outstanding results!

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX : THE MOVIE REVIEW
13th july 2007. the opening of a mega-packed series of events for a Harry Potter fan. the release of a greatly anticipated movie:HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX! although i did not get to watch it on its release date, i did manage to watch it within the coming week.
my response:AWESOME!!!
although there are a few faults here and there, one can definately say that this movie is a difinate "wow".
firstly, the dementor attack scene was really a thriller. with all the sound effects surrounding me and the sudden appearance of the hood of the dementor, it really got me by surprise. and after that, the next scene after the next, the scene where harry will escape from the dursleys', was my second favourite scene in the movie. the beautiful music of the movie alongwith the breathtaking scenes of the river thames was indescribable. i loved it.
then, harry enters number 12, grimmauld place. truly an creative way was the appearance of it:in my imagination, i imagined it swell up like a balloon, but i liked what i saw anyway. after that, the "not needed" scene where harry meets kreacher up the stairs. it was said that director david yates thought of cutting the scene, but after a talk with author j.k. rowling, he decided to leave it as it is as it would help viewers get a welcome view of the house-elf, which is, in fact, playing a rather important role in harry potter and the deathly hallows. so there he was.
the set of the number 12's kitchen was beautiful. it almost had everything made there in detail. i
n case you guys do not know what i am talking about, the kitchen is the place where the order has meetings and where the family eats.
and soon, harry is on the way to hogwarts. in the carraige pulled by thestrals, he meets luna lovegood, a fourth-year ravenclaw, who will fight alongside him against the death eaters.and then, his dull school life with the new evil teacher professor umbridge, his old hooked nosed teacher severus snape, distinguishedly marked with the absence of the care of magical teacher and harry's best friend, hagrid.
little miss evil wasn't making things fun at all. umbridge was banning the use of magic in DADA classes and taking over the school. no fun at all. thus, the students formed a rebellion, named Dumbledore's Army, patronize harry as a teacher to teach them the defence against the dark arts. definately a scene anybody will like. i did, anyway.and then, the meeting with grawp, hagrid's brother, when hagrid returns. i like this part, when umbridge ge
t carried away by grawp, screaming her head off. also, i like harry's response to umbridge:
p.u. :harry, ask them to let go off me! i mean them no harm! (or something)

after this, the flight to the ministry on thestrals, and the entrance to the department of mysteries. i also like the interesting idea of the door leading to different rooms whenever you open it. and the fight against the death eaters. really, really, really LOVED it!

he grand finale:the duel between the two greatest wizards in the world:Lord Voldemort and Professor Albus Percifel Wudfric Brian Dumbledore (what a mouthful!). this, alas, is my most favourite scene in the movie. the flying of the broken glass, the huge fiery snake thingy by Voldemort, the drownage of him in water by Dumbledore, and the lava-ish wand connecting thing. wow.
that's all i can say at the moment, but i'll be back soon, giving the review of the 7th book and the cons of the movie. anyway...bye!

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX - CHAPTERS 1 - 6

what the hell i'm talking about? well as i've said in my previous post, i will be explaining about the 5th installment of the harry potter series: harry potter and the order of the phoenix. the stuff i've written above are the titles of the first six chapters of the book.
in the first three chapters, it is about harry potter being stuck in the dursleys' for a month in the summer, being angry to be shut away from the wizarding world, and being confused why there has not been a single report on deaths, as harry suspect would happen as lord voldemort is alove once again. one unluckly day, harry potter and his cousin dudley got cornered in an alleyway by a pair of dementors. thus, to repel the dementors, harry produced a potranus to shake them off. well, the potranus got hm landed in a hearing with the ministry.
thus, as told in the advanced guard, a group of people from the order came to harry to fetch him and bring him away to number twelve, grimmauld place, which is the headquaters for the order of the phoenix. the order of the phoenix is an organization which opposes voldemort's missions and doings. it is made up of witches and wizards from the ministry, overseas, and those in league with dumbledore. incidentaly, the house's current owner is harry's godfather, sirius black. his house's owners date back all the way to the middle ages.
amazingly, just these six chapters take up about 130 pages of the book!

THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
ok, we only have a breif idea on what the order of the phoenix movie will bring us, but let me tell you what you can find in the book.a lot.
from the dementors to the order of the phoenix, from dobby to kreacher, grawp, centuars, umbridge, the department of mysteries, quidditch, hogwarts, the weasley twins' escape, the break out of the death eaters, most importantly, harry potter himself; harry potter and the order of phoenix brings out the most suspense and adventure i have ever seen in any previous harry potter books.
ok, starting from now, i shall be going through different chapters of this book in different posts. this means that i will have to go through all thirty-eight chapters of the book! but, i will summarise a group of chapters at once...well, i'd better start doing it now!

DUMBLEDORE'S ARMY
the harry potter movie will come out by 17th july. but what do fans, like me, actually look forward to catch in the movie? harry's first kiss? the weasley twins' fabulous escape from the new enemy of the day: dolores umbridge? or is it the scene in which sirius black, harry's godfather, will die?
well trust me, most of us fans are actually looking forward to the DA : Dumbledore's Army.
what is it? it is actually an organisation, illegelly founded by harry potter, to learn useful defensive spells and counter-attacks as their dumb defence against the dark arts teacher, dolores umbridge, is not teaching them just that.what spells? you say. well, they are:
stupefy - to stun your opponent
petrificulus totalus - to cause a full body-bind on your opponent
expelliarmus - to disarm your opponent
wingardium leviosa- to levitate your opponent for some kind of reason (woohoo!!!)
expecto patronum - to repel happiness sucking creatures : dementors
ridikulus - to turn boggarts into something funny
protego - to repel a spell or jinx
levicorpus - a cool non-verbal spell to hang your opponent by his ankles(noooo!)
right - now we know the spells, who the heck are in it? well, from the picture above i can say that: harry potter, hermione granger, ronald, fred, george and ginny weasleys, cho chang, neville longbottom, parvati and padma patil, luna lovegood,lee gordon, colin creevy and one more guy whom i don't recognise.
where is it held? a room not known, and is unplottable : the Room of Requirement. why is it called that? if a person would enter the room, the intrerior of the room would change to suit a person's needs.

D' LONG AWAITED COVERS...
well, as we know, the long awaited book, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, will be released on 21st july 2007.
around the world, fans (like me) are eagerly waiting in anticipation for it to be released. the covers for the bookss had not been known until about a few weeks ago.
in the adult cover (left,top), it shows salazar slytherin's locket which harry potter and proffesor dumbledore had set out to find in HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE. unfortunately, it was a fake, which almost caused dumbledore his life. i kinda like the design of the locket and how the cameraman shot the picture.

TROUBLE ON BOARD...
there was trouble on board the hogwarts express a few days ago, on 22nd march 2007. a group of young vandals, well, vandalised the very magnificent piece of artwork. it was estimated that it cost about 50 000 pounds worth of damage. that's a lot of money. sadly, this was the second time the train had been vandalised.from veritaserum.com, a britain local newspaper reported that:
The youngsters broke into the West Coast Railway depot at the former Steamtown site in Carnforth and used emergency hammers from train carriages to smash toughened glass on the train.
The gang of six youngsters was spotted by nearby residents as they made off.
Patricia Marshall, managing director of West Coast Railway, said: "It will take at least a month to repair, because so much damage was caused."

HEAVE A SIGH OF RELIEF FOLKS...
ladies and gentlemen, you can heave a sigh of relief...
over the past few months, there were rumours and i think i even saw an interview of some shocking accusations.
in an interview, daniel racliffe, currently acting as the harry potter movies' leading actor, harry potter himself, said that he was not planning in quitting the harry potter movie career. neither was rupert grint, who acted as ron weasley.
but emma watson, currently acting as hermione granger, was.
shocking as it is, it is not true.
www.veritaserm.com reported that, in fact, emma watson is NOT leaving the harry potter movies as rumoured, but, in fact, she IS still staying for the 6th and 7th harry potter movies : harry potter and the half-blood prince, and, harry potter and the deathly hallows.
so people, this waacky genius is still staying after all...thank god...

MY COUSIN
god, isn't he cute? it shows him sticking out his toungue (duh), but in a really cute manner...man i feel like carrying him now...by the way, this is the one year old cousin i was talking about below. his mini party was great, and i'll put the photos up in the blog once i get them from my uncles. not many people was there, but it was fun. the fruit cake...chocolate...briyani (an indian delicacy)...chocolate...fish curry..chocolate...potato chips...and finally, more chocolate...thinking of it makes me hungry! oh yeah...i got fish curry for dinner.

MY HOLIDAYS 2
guess what...i've finally done my homework! now, i've gotta leave for my cousin's birthday party i mentioned earlier, but meanwhile, let's face the truth: I HAVE FINALLY DONE MY HOMEWORK!!!
think about it; 20 #$@# pags of #$%@ english in two hours. i'm so happy that i just can't stop saying @#$% ! well besides my homework, i hope more bloggers veiw my blog and leave comments about it. i just set it up yeaterday and i kinda like the set-up of everything. oh yaeh, do go to my favourite websites on the bottom of the left coloum of this page. maybe on my next post, i'll blog about harry potter: its mysteries, facts, funnies and photos.i've put one right up there. sorry it's in some language i don't understand.

MY HOLIDAYS
man, the holidays were a blast!
just a week, and it is gone...and still i have not done my homework! thought maybe i could leave a post before i gotta suffer somemore. dratted english teacher...20 pages of nose-grinding english! at least the rest were okay...the 'rest' meaning 8 pieces of homework! and a worksheet each...well, just to let ya all know, i am only thirteen, in secondary one in singapore, but hell it's boring.
but other than homework, i still got to enjoy. a bit. well, my friends got to come over to do the dumb sience project i had...on science laboratory rules...*snort*. finally got a soccer ball to kick around, thanks to my friends...and got a handphone...not a good one, as it is jus for ermengencies...but i don't mind. yeah, i still gotta go to my cousin's birthday party later on...he's only 1 and darn cute!
well, gotta go and do the english homework now...not that i want to, but it's getting late. i'll see if i'll get time to blog more on my holidays soon, and i would like to know about yours...
